Puerto Calero Information

The Development of Puerto Calero began in 1983 and it is the quietest resort on the whole of Lanzarote. It is situated 10kms south of Arrecife Airport and 20kms from the island`s capital. The area is very small compared to the major resorts in Lanzarote offering some stunning views and has one of the best harbours on the Island. The harbour (also known as Millionaires Harbour) has been host to boats and yachts worth up to and over 10 Million euros. It has a very exclusive feel to it.

There is a main walk way along the harbour which has a number of designer shops, restaurants and a few bars. This is a perfect place for people to visit who want to relax, enjoy good food and views, or feed the prolific number of fish who have made the Marina their home, and of course, just people watch.

It is also the home of a whale and dolphin museum.

Puerto Calero also offers a number of water activites, such as submarine excursions, catamaran trips and a variety of sport-fishing trips on which you can try your hand at catching Marlin and Blue-fin Tuna in the fertile waters surrounding Lanzarote..

For those who prefer to have a more up close perspective of the abundant marine life, there are a couple of dive schools operating out of the Marina offering instruction and guided dives for the beginner or the more experienced diver.

Puerto Calero may only be a few kilometres away from the busy resort of Puerto del Carmen, but it is a world away in style and atmosphere.
